Opportunities to get involved

Volunteers play a vital role in advancing the mission of Diabetes Research Connection. Whether you’re helping at community events, supporting
educational programs, or sharing your personal connection to type 1 diabetes, your time and passion can help raise awareness, inspire hope, and support the next generation of T1D research. Explore the opportunities below to find the role that’s right for you and become part of a community dedicated to making a difference.

Outreach Volunteer

Join our team at community outreach events such as conferences, employee wellness fairs, farmers markets, and local festivals. Volunteers help share information about type 1 diabetes (T1D), the groundbreaking research funded by Diabetes Research Connection, and ways the public can support the search for a cure. This role is perfect for friendly, passionate individuals who enjoy connecting with others and making an impact through education and awareness.

Special Event Volunteer

Classroom STEM Volunteer

Support our educational outreach by helping staff lead classroom presentations and hands-on STEM workshops focused on type 1 diabetes and scientific discovery. Volunteers help inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and introduce students to the importance of diabetes research in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

Please note: any volunteers scheduled to work directly with youth may be
asked to complete additional background screening. This program is still being developed but you can express your interest in the volunteer application.

Volunteer Grants & VTO

Amplify the impact of your volunteer time!

Did you know that thousands of companies offer volunteer grant programs where they donate to our organization after you volunteer your time? PLUS,
many companies offer Volunteer Time Off (VTO) so you can spend the volunteering with us.

Name A Research Project

Name an entire research project after your family, foundation, or loved one affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Funding an entire project gives you exclusive access to the researcher for individual updates about the progress of their project and recognition in all published materials.
