NIH / NIDDK Presentation by DRC-funded researcher Dr. Leonardo Ferreira

We’re proud to share that DRC-funded researcher Dr. Leonardo Ferreira presented his exciting research findings at the January 14, 2025  NIH / NIDDK symposium honoring the 10-year anniversary of the Human Islet Research Network (HIRN).  The symposium, entitled, “Changing the Course in Type 1 Diabetes”, gathered top T1D experts focused on accelerating progress in T1D discovery, etiology, and therapies.

Dr. Ferreira’s presentation was followed by a related presentation by Professor Qizhi Tang, speaking on behalf of the UCSF Diabetes Center team that includes Roberto Castro-Gutierrez, another DRC-funded researcher who collaborated on and published a joint paper with Dr. Ferreira’s research team.
